Additional Information Mattia would like to share:

With time and dedication, all flowers blooms. After extensive time studying in Chang Mai, Mattia came to know of three of his most valuable jewels: Ajarn Sinchai, Jack Chaya and Joe Kumlee.

Ajarn Sinchai is considered the masseur of the masseurs. The now 77-year-old Ajarn Sinchai worked for his whole life at the rehabilitation center of the second largest hospital in the country helping people recover from paralysis and strokes. His technique is unique from the classical spa version of Thai massage. Sinchai works with deep pressure on specific points of the body; his goal is to directly heal through deep work, even when it means discomfort.

Jack Chaya is the son of the legendary Mama Chaya and his massage style comes from an ancient matriarchal tradition. His technique is also known as jap sen or nerve touch. Jack Chaya is a very methodical teacher, precise and interested in the complete execution of the discipline without missing even one step. “Practicing the sequence of Jack is like entering a deep meditation, you can feel the flow of energy in the body and how each touch opens up the channels and allows a natural flow of life force”

Mattia finally had the blessing to study the art of Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal Thai-massage) with Ajarn Joe Kumlee. This style of massage focuses primarily on the abdominal area with the goal of helping to release emotional and physical blockages. In India Mattia studied Ayurvedic Massage and after meeting Anantha, a wonderful masseur, he learned Ayurvedic Yoga Massage.

“More than simple body work this style of massage is another powerful healing technique which combines the usage of oils with work on the energy lines of yoga.”

Mattia is a dedicated body worker, enthusiast philosopher, and passionate cook who loves to spend his spare time gardening.

Studying and discovering different massage techniques was the second reason (after Ashtanga yoga) to fuel Mattia’s intensive travels in Asia. Being exposed to postural yoga, he has experienced this deep truth and realized the harmony in between the intertwined body and mind complex can easily be achieved working on its manifest form: the body.

He studied extensively in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the northern style Thai-massage. His foundations were laid studying all the levels in notable schools like Sunshine Massage School and International Thai-Massage (ITM).

After extensive time studying in Chang Mai and India, he has brought his knowledge here to Blue Buddha.
